REARRANGING FURNITURE AND LIFE

I just had to do it. I simply could not sit and work. Not until I moved my desk to a new spot which meant moving several other pieces of furniture and other adjustments.  Sometimes,  I just have to do it.

I realized this morning that I needed more than just a physical rearranging; I needed an inner one as well. I threw out that phone game that draws me in too much. I re-set my focus. I want to spend time where I need it, putting The Way of Love and Life first.

I’m going to need to pray a lot to change some of these habits. Will you join me in praying together?

THANKSGIVING PREPARATION 11.19.2020

My grandson’s school is practicing for a Thanksgiving meal today. Everyone was assigned something to bring. They will sit down together, practice their manners, and they will learn about Thanksgiving.

It seems to me that it is good to practice calming down, knowing that we are loved, and being able to focus on a bigger picture rather than provoking one another as often happens during Thanksgiving meals. Will you join me in prayer?

Friday the 13th: blessings of love and forgiveness

What is Friday the 13th all about? My understanding is that it relates to the crucifixion of Jesus. Jesus plus his 12 disciples equals 13. Judas was considered the 13th disciple, giving 13 a bad connotation. And Jesus was crucified on a Friday.

What if we remembered what Christ has done for us every Friday the 13th? We can remember his amazing sacrifice out of his unconditional love for all of us. We can remember how he forgave all who betrayed him, not just Judas. And in remembering this gift for us, we can seek to love and to forgive others.

IN FOR THE LONG HAUL

I have heard that anything that is worth your time, takes time. My grandson gets up in the morning saying, “I haven’t had breakfast yet.” I tell him I can only do one thing at a time, and fixing him breakfast is not first on our list. He will have to wait.

Are we ready to wait? Are we willing to put the time in to grow in our relationship with Christ? It is easier said than done. We are all invited. Staying with the Love is worth it.
